Junior High Camp

ALL Junior High Camps serve rising 7th, and 8th graders.

Junior High Camp is for younger youth who want to learn more about being a Christian teenager in a fun and meaningful environment. Along the way there are lots of great activities and programming connecting the campers and counselors. Check-in begins on Sunday at 4:00 pm at the Pool Camp Assembly Hall. There is no closing program at Junior High Camps. Check-out begins at 4:00 pm each Friday.

Lodging

All junior high campers are housed in the Pool Camp cabins. Housing for campers and counselors is cabins that hold up to 28 people each. The cabins and dining hall at Pool Camp are air-conditioned. The cost of junior high camp includes a t-shirt and pictures from the week. Campers should bring money for snacks and crafts. In addition, an offering will be collected for a mission or ministry of the United Methodist Church.

What to bring

Camp Photos

Camp Sumatanga is awesome! They provide a helpful learning experience about God.  Not only do they focus on godly things, but we have lots of fun! The meetings we had with our groups helped us to get closer to one another and talk about our experiences. That small portion out of the day was my favorite.

My valuable time at Camp Sumatanga taught me that different races can come together and worship one God. Being at camp has taught me to be like Jesus.   I learned how to turn the other cheek when someone is trying to make you fight them.   My time at Sumatanga taught me how to be helpful to others.

When I went to Camp Sumatanga I ate, played, slept, went to the lake, swam, and canoed!
Camp is important to me because it helps me understand Jesus.
