May 2022 Camp Sumatanga is excited to invite campers to draw close to God’s heart this summer. However, we feel it is important to create a safe environment for camper’s hearts and bodies. Like last year we have assembled a team of pediatricians and internists to advise us and help us implement strategies to stop or slow the spread of COVID in our summer camps. Our COVID plans include:
No Mask will required either indoors or outdoors.
We are considering removing the small groups or pods experience that proved essential for 2021.
Should a camper become ill, have a fever of 100+, and test positive for COVID, the camper and their small group will return home to quarantine. We will apply a portion of your week’s registration cost to next year’s summer camp registration fee, depending on how many days were spent at camp. After Tuesday, no refund will be given.
It is strongly recommended that all volunteers and staff members are vaccinated before coming to camp.
We will continue the modified drop off/pick up procedure, with a strong preference for allowing camp volunteers and staff to help settle kids into their cabin.
Should any of these updates to our policy make campers or their families uncomfortable, they will be eligible for a refund, less the registration fee.
We hope these efforts will allow us to praise God with healthy bodies for your camper’s week at Sumatanga. Thank you for being mindful of these plans as you register your child for an awesome week at camp
Cancellation Policy
In light of COVID-19 and our desire to keep our campers safe, if your child tests positive for COVID in the 2 weeks before camp and you can provide evidence of this positive test, we will be happy to refund your registration (less $50 registration fee) or apply it to a camp next year.
