SPARK elementary camp
Date: July 11-16
Description:
SPARK Elementary is a new twist on summer camping where kids will have a hand in designing what their camp experience will be! Campers will select an affinity for their week of camp (Art Innovations, Camp Splash, Trailblazers, Sports, or Sampler) and will spend a part of every day participating in activities specific to that affinity.  The rest of their day will offer them time to participate in the rich traditions of Sumatanga as well, including faith development, community building activities, and the tried and true camp favorites like hiking, swimming, and crafts. This camp will give kids an opportunity to SPARK new friendships, SPARK some creativity and adventure as they choose the camp program that excites them, and kindle the SPARK of faith as we help them build authentic connections with each other, in community, and with God.

Art Innovations:  How creative can you be?  Each day will offer campers an opportunity to explore a different art medium, from paint to clay, sand, tile and more.  Campers will create masterpieces to bring home, AND learn about the Master Creator who designed each of us to be our wonderful, unique selves!

Trailblazers: Come join us as we further explore that great outdoors and learn some survival techniques along the way.  Try your hand at knot-tying, cooking a full meal over the open fire (this isn't your every day hot dog roast!), learn what orienteering is, and more!  Explore and spend time in God's creation in ways that you may never have before!

Splash Camp: This isn't just creek stomps and pool swimming anymore!  Join us as we find new ways to cool down in the summer heat with H2O kickball, epic water balloon games and so much more.  Come get soaked with us, and then soak in the love and friendships that come with true community as we discover relationships with each other and with Jesus.

Sports: You've done soccer and basketball and kickball and such, but have you ever played 5 hole hockey with a beach ball and pool noodles?  Have you tried your hand at the fast-growing sport, pickleball?  What about Egyptian baseball?  If you like sports, but are looking for something new, this may just be the camp for you.  Step away from the familiar, out of your comfort zone and join us for some new sports adventures.  And along the way, we may learn a thing or two about how God sometimes calls us out of our comfort zone, and how we can respond.

Sampler (all 4): We know, we know....you've read all the descriptions for the affinity groups, and just can't make up your mind because they ALL sound so amazing.  Problem solved....sign up for the sampler, and you'll get to participate in 1 day of each of the other affinity programs.  Who knows, God may use that time to SPARK within you a passion and excitement for a talent that you didn't know you had!
